Transneft Diascan inspects over 500 oil and petroleum storage tanks in 2019

Full technical inspection with decommissioning was performed at 78 tanks, while 141 tanks underwent a partial technical inspection without decommissioning.

339 additional inspections of tanks were performed: the monitoring of tanks (49 pcs); the control of the technical condition of aluminium dome-shaped roofs of vertical steel tanks (16 pcs); the control of the condition of external and internal anticorrosive coating (125 pcs), and the additional flaw-detection inspection (x-ray examination) of welded joints between the third and the fourth belts of tank wall (82 pcs). The inspection was carried out using ultrasonic, acoustic-emission and x-ray examination methods.

The works were primarily conducted at the facilities of Transneft Siberia (75 tanks), Transneft Privolga (69 tanks), Transneft Western Siberia (55 tanks), Transneft Kama Region (54 tanks) and Transneft Vostok (53 tanks).

Moreover, 793 units of additional equipment used at line segment of oil and petroleum products trunk pipelines were inspected by Transneft Diascan in 2019. The inspection of 2552 mechanic and technological equipment units and 300 automation and pipeline telemetry systems were performed as well. 120.5 km of pipelines were inspected, and a full technical inspection was performed at 25.5 km of oil trunk pipelines and PS lines.

The diagnostics were performed both using the company’s own resources, and with the involvement of subcontracting organisations. According to the results of the inspection, the condition of the examined objects was satisfactory. The flaws discovered in terms of the inspection are to be eliminated in accordance with the scheduled repair works.
