Marine Technical Limits expands to Brazil

Floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) and marine integrity management specialists, Marine Technical Limits (MTL) have signed an agreement to work with a company based in Rio De Janeiro delivering its unique service offering to the Brazilian oil and gas industry.
Technical Director Matt Lewin and Senior Project Engineer Adam Westwell travelled to Brazil to meet with AES Union to discuss the partnership. The strategic alignment will see MTL delivering enhanced FPSO integrity management, safe system of work (SSOW) equipment for confined space entry, inspection leadership, and on-station repairs to Brazilian FPSO owners and operators.
Lewin said: “We have a strong relationship with AES Union and will work with the team in Brazil offering our extensive knowledge of risk-based integrity management strategies, our industry-changing Pyxis integrity management system and our bespoke SSOW.
“We have significant experience in the FPSO and oil and gas industry and have worked in many different geographical areas – each with their own environmental challenges. Our teams will initially provide services, project management, and offshore project supervision and leadership, working closely with the AES Union team who have extensive knowledge and experience of the Brazilian FPSO market.
“They will provide skilled local trades persons for inspections and repair projects, tools and equipment to support offshore projects, and in-country materials, consumables and personnel logistics.”
MTL, which is based in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, has worked throughout the globe in Canada, Africa, United Kingdom Continental Shelf, Europe and Asia Pacific. The company, which employs 44 people, continues to expand its reach and has a busy year ahead.
Westwell said: “We are looking forward to working with the team in Rio De Janeiro. The collaboration will offer us an opportunity to showcase our unique risk-based integrity management strategy capabilities in the Brazilian FPSO market. With this, AES Union will be able to offer services to fulfil all FPSO tank related activities – these include; initial cleaning, through to class inspections, and concluding with any tank structural and coating repairs necessary before the tanks are returned to service – all achieved whilst the FPSOs remain on-station and in-production.”
AES Union is a Rio de Janeiro based company which provides equipment, engineering, fabric maintenance, integrity, and cleaning services to the Brazilian energy sector.
