Transneft inspected 825 tanks in 2017

The Diagnostics Directorate of Transneft Diascan inspected 825 oil and petroleum product storage tanks last year.
The diagnostics was a part of Transneft’s integrated programme of pipelines and PS (oil pump stations) facilities inspections in 2017.
Full technical diagnostics with decommissioning was performed at 108 tanks, while partial technical diagnostics without decommissioning was performed at 157 tanks.
560 additional inspections of tanks included monitoring of tanks (106), control of technical condition of aluminium dome-shaped roofs of vertical steel tanks (16), control of external and internal anti-corrosive coating (139), additional flaw-detection inspection (x-ray examination) of welded joints between the third and the fourth belts of tank wall (118) and other works. Ultrasonic, acoustic-emission and x-ray examination methods were used for the inspection.
Major works were conducted at the facilities of Transneft Druzhba (103 tanks), Transneft Western Siberia (100 tanks), Transneft Siberia (89 tanks), Transneft Urals (86 tanks) and Chernomortransneft (68 tanks).
In the reported period, Transneft Diascan also inspected more than 2500 additional equipment units of the linear portion of oil and petroleum products trunk pipelines. The inspected facilities also include 4500 mechanic and technological equipment units, 386 automation and pipeline telemetry systems.
