Tanks and Terminals,
Eni has issued a statement confirming that it has received a decree issued notice from the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Rome, Italy, which establishes the revocation of the preventive seizure of oil product measurement devices in the company’s refineries and storage facilities in Italy.
On 22 November 2017, the Rome Preliminary Investigations Judge ordered the preventive seizure of the measurement devices for oil products in the company’s refineries and storage facilities across the country.
At that time, Eni denied any wrongdoing, claiming that it had always been the offended party within the police investigation, which has been ongoing since 2010. Eni asked for the seizure order to be lifted, as it threatened to shut down its refineries.
The decision to lift the seizure of the measurement devices was taken following commitments made by the company, which is a third party not under investigation.
