Tanks and Terminals,
Bureau Veritas (BV) has been awarded a three-year contract by Centrica Storage Ltd (CSL) for independent verification services at its UK onshore and offshore gas facilities, namely its Rough storage facility. It is located approximately 18 miles offshore in the Southern North Sea, and its onshore gas-receiving terminal is at Easington, East Yorkshire. The Rough facility comprises of operational and cold-stacked assets.
BV secured the contract with CSL after presenting a novel, tailored and competitively priced solution for the verification of assets that are at different stages in their lifecycle.
The service will be provided through a digitalised delivery model using BV’s cloud-based collaborative software tool, BV Compliance. The tool streamlines planning, administration, project management and reporting to deliver a centralised live overview of the initial and ongoing assessment of Safety and Environmentally Critical Elements (SECE) suitability.
Joanne Bailey, Process Safety Engineer at CSL, commented: “CSL has been highly impressed with the service received thus far from Bureau Veritas. They have, in a short space of time, conducted several thorough and objective reviews on the verification of CSL’s Safety and Environmentally Critical Elements (SECEs). Bureau Veritas was prompt in becoming proficient in the use of our reporting systems and have provided valuable training in the use and understanding of the BV Compliance system to key stakeholders within CSL. Communication has been timely, open and honest, resulting in quality feedback being provided and received. CSL looks forward to fulfilling our continuous improvement prospects with Bureau Veritas in the near future.”
Paul Shrieve, Vice President Offshore & Services at Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore, added: “This contract award demonstrates that BV’s continued improvement philosophy has materialised, resulting in processes and systems that deliver tangible benefits to its clients.”
