PT Pertamina (Persero) Marketing Operation Region (MOR) V expands the marketing of Pertalite as a non-subsidised fuel in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) by providing it at Tenau's fuel terminal. Previously, Pertalite for the NTT region is supplied from Maumere and the Atapupu fuel terminal.

"Tenau Fuel Terminal is the main fuel supply of Kupang, so Pertalite’s availability in Kupang fuel terminal will automatically facilitate the expansion of the Pertalite market for Kupang and its surrounding areas. Previously for Kupang, Pertalite supply was supplied from Atapupu fuel terminal through a small tanker with an 8 – 9 hour distance," said Marketing Branch Manager of NTT, Fanda Krismianto.

Furthermore, currently in Kupang there are only five gas stations providing Pertalite. By providing Pertalite stock in Tenau Fuel Terminal, it is planned to add 15 more Pertalite outlets in Kupang again this year.

Tenau Fuel Terminal has a special tank for Pertalite with a capacity of 2500 kilolitres (kl), so there is no concern over Pertalite stock availability. Total fuel capacity at the Tenau Fuel Terminal is approximately 31 000 kl for all products. Fuel and special fuel supply for the terminal comes from Manggis Bali and Tanjungwangi fuel terminal of East Java, delivered with a tanker.

Communication & Relation Area Manager of Jatim Balinus, Heppy Wulansari, explained that in the first quarter of 2017 (1Q17), Pertalite consumption in NTT was 3241 kl. By providing Pertalite and its facilities in Tenau Fuel Terminal, Pertamina is optimistic to reach Pertalite sales target in NTT for up to 48 418 kl until the end of this year.

In terms of the gas stations’ expansion, out of a total of 66 Stasiun Pengisian BBM untuk Umum (SPBUs) in NTT, 18 gas stations have been providing Pertalite in all NTT areas, and by the end of this year, there is a target to add an additional 50 gas stations that provide Pertalite products. Besides Atapupu and Tenau Fuel Terminal, Pertalite for NTT is also supplied by Reo Fuel Terminal.
