AG&P presents new regasification modules for LNG import terminals

Tanks and Terminals,

Atlantic Gulf & Pacific Co. (AG&P) has announced two technologies for use at LNG import terminals.

AG&P has developed a standardised regasification technology that uses a water bath (WBV) and lighters based on natural gas to transfer heat to stored water, by convection and conduction transfer. The gas that is burned to generate heat (combustion) never comes into direct contact with the stored water.

To minimise emissions to the environment, the design can include burner technology with low production of nitrogen oxides (NOX) and an economiser to recover waste heat.

The design is applicable to onshore and offshore/floating sites and those with strict environmental regulations.

The second technology is a standard regasification module that uses an air-based fan-assisted evaporation (FAV) technology for tropical and subtropical areas with ambient temperatures above 15°C.

These technologies will be implemented in AG&P’s LNG import terminal in the port of Karaikal, India, and in two facilities currently under development in South America.
