Exolum invests in fuel supply terminal at Lanzarote Airport

Exolum will invest €12 million in the construction of a new aviation fuel storage terminal and a new loading dock for refuelling units at Lanzarote airport, Canary Islands. These new infrastructures will offer a better service to the different airport operators with the highest level of efficiency.

The new facility will have a minimum storage capacity of 6000 m3 divided into three overhead tanks and will have reserved space and facilities for the construction of a fourth tank in the future. It will also have two positions for the simultaneous unloading of tanker trucks and a loading position for contingency situations.

For its part, the new refuelling unit loading dock will have four positions for Jet A1 loading and both facilities will be connected by a buried pipe between them. On this air side there will also be a loading and unloading facility and a 3000 l AVGAS 100LL storage tank.

As part of the complete remodelling, new access roads and parking areas for on-board equipment will be built. Likewise, important improvements will be made in terms of energy efficiency, such as the construction of a photovoltaic energy production facility and charging points for electric vehicles will be installed. These new infrastructures will also have the most modern safety and environmental protection equipment.

The project also includes the dismantling of the current facility and the existing pipeline and, once the works are completed, which will last approximately 3 years, the company will operate the new facility for a period of 12 years.

Lanzarote airport is the second airport that Exolum operates in the Canary Islands, along with Tenerife South, which consolidates the company's position to continue growing in the archipelago in the sector of fuel storage and distribution infrastructure management. aviation in which Exolum has extensive experience, carrying out this activity in airports both in Europe and Latin America.
