Tanks and Terminals,

Due to the tropical conditions anticipated in the Gulf of Mexico, the Port of Corpus Christi, Texas, US, has increased its Hurricane Readiness Status to Hurricane Readiness Level 3 (Increased Readiness), in accordance with its 2024 Hurricane Readiness Plan. The Port has continued to monitor possible impact scenarios for the developing system in and around the Coastal Bend region.

The Port of Corpus Christi has remained fully engaged in general readiness activities in coordination with surrounding communities, industry partners, and state and federal agencies. All Port of Corpus Christi users shall immediately adhere to the requirements and recommendations set forth in USCG Marine Safety Information Bulletin (MSIB) 55-24 and forthcoming MSIBs.

The USCG Captain of Sector Port Corpus Christi (CoTP) set Port Condition Whiskey from the Colorado Locks to the US Mexico border, including the Port of Corpus Christi, effective 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, 3 July 2024. Under this condition, owners, operators or agents of all self-propelled oceangoing vessels over 500 t, all barges and their support tugs should review USCG plans to depart or remain in port.

As a US energy exporting port and an economic engine of Texas and the rest of the US, the Port of Corpus Christi is the third-largest port in the US in total waterborne tonnage. Strategically located on the western Gulf of Mexico with a 36 mile, soon to be 54 ft (MLLW) deep channel, the Port of Corpus Christi is a gateway to international and domestic maritime commerce.
