The signing of the first term sheet for capacity booking at the planned ammonia import terminal in Hamburg-Blumensand, Germany, took place between S.E.T. SELECT ENERGY GMBH and MB Energy at the World Hydrogen Summit in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

From the planned start of commercial operations in 2029, SELECT is expected to become a customer of the terminal and plans to bring Renewable Fuels of Non-Biological Origin (RFNBO) ammonia to Hamburg – produced by its Indian partner Juno Joule Green Energy at the planned project at NTPC Green Energy Limited’s Green Hydrogen Hub in Pudimadaka, India, as well as other projects SELECT is involved in.

The agreement marks an important step towards establishing reliable international supply chains for future-oriented energy carriers and strengthening Hamburg's role as a future hub for renewable ammonia imports.

As two Hamburg-based companies, MB Energy and SELECT share the ambition of enabling large scale import of future-oriented energy carriers and of supporting the energy transition through long-term collaboration.
